Using Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Learning Evaluation, we assess our lessons.
Level 1 Reaction-This is imperative as the student completes the lesson. We ask the student if the training:
          Was it worth the time?
          Do you feel it was successful?
          What were the strength and weaknesses of the lesson?
After the student completes their lesson, we will have an opportunity to get their reaction to what they just accomplished. It is imperative that this information is captured and analyzed to help assess if the training will meet their needs and if the lesson needs to be adjusted.  
Level 2 Learning- This will measure how the student thinks if they have and have not learned and what they believe will be they will be able to do differently due to the training. This information is captured before and after the training. In a preassessment survey, we can establish the baseline of knowledge the student currently has. We then compare the information to the Level 1 survey to capture the data.
Level 3 Behavior- This level will help us understand how the training was applied after the training. Level 3 surveys are sent out three-to-six months after the training has occurred. The survey is sent out to the management team to understand if the employee (student) had been able to apply their new skills.
Level 4 Result- This level of evaluation brings us full circle in the process. The development team with the client assesses if the target (needs) were met. Did we achieve our goal? ​​​​​​​
